Ҵý is endeavoring to protect the environment and reduce its environmental impact to help realize a sustainable society. In carrying out these endeavors, the HAZAMA ANDO Group (“the Group”) reacquired certification under the Science Based Target (SBT) Initiative (Ndzٱ1) in December 2025 for its newly established greenhouse gas emissions reduction target for FY2035.
In December 2019, the Group adopted the WB2 degrees Celsius level as its greenhouse gas emissions reduction target, based on scientific evidence to limit the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2 degrees Celsius compared with the pre-industrial level and acquired SBT certification (Ndzٱ2). In light of the accelerated movement toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the Group revised its greenhouse gas emissions reduction target to the 1.5 degrees Celsius level in December 2024.
To clarify the path forward over the next decade toward achieving its “Net-Zero Emissions from Business Activities by 2050” (Ndzٱ3) goal, the Group has also revised the target year from FY2030 to FY2035.
In addition, the Group revised its greenhouse gas emissions calculation method to comply with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, an international standard (T1).
The Group has set efforts to “create environmental value” as one of Four Value Creation strategies under HAZAMA ANDO VISION2030 (Ndzٱ4) and is working steadily to promote initiatives aimed at contributing to the realization of a decarbonized, low environment impact, recycling-oriented society in a bid to leave a fertile global environment for the next generation going forward.
Table1: FY2035 GHG Emissions Reduction Targets Newly Certified under the SBT Initiative
※1 Emissions associated with fuel consumed by partner construction companies revised from Scope1 to Scope3. Scope classification revised in accordance with an amendment to the Japan Federation of Construction Contractor's “Environmental Information Disclosure Guidelines” in March 2025, which acknowledges the application of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol as the International Standard for GHG emissions calculation methods
※2 Revision to the period of building use after construction handover set for Scope3 emissions calculation from 30 years to the 60 years as recommended by the SBT Initiative.
